Prior-art search

Prior-art search that becomes an evidence brief

Prior-art search is the process of finding earlier patent and technical evidence relevant to a new invention or claim set. IPClavis turns selected search evidence into review-ready prior-art briefs with source references and manual review boundaries.

Workflow

  • Start from an invention, claim, technical problem, or search objective.
  • Retrieve candidate patents and evidence spans using current search workflows.
  • Create a durable report execution with frozen candidates and a prior-art analysis payload.

Evidence model

  • The current entrypoint is POST /api/reports/analyses/.
  • Search evidence, selected candidates, and claim/document context are frozen into the payload.
  • Outputs use prior_art_analysis.v1 style evidence brief positioning.

What IPClavis does not do

  • Determine patentability.
  • Guarantee novelty or inventive step.
  • Replace attorney review of claims and evidence spans.

Legal boundary

Prior-art briefs are not patentability opinions. They are evidence packages for expert review.
